New Student Services provides the bridge between admission and enrollment at the University of Arizona for first time freshman students.

All new first time freshman Wildcats attend a New Student Orientation Program. These programs welcome students to their new academic home, helping them to learn the culture of pride at the University of Arizona and to register them in their first semester courses.

At the start of the fall semester, we welcome back first year and returning students to Wildcat Welcome, the opening of school celebration which takes place in the days before and after the first day of classes. Each year the president, provost, deans and staff officially welcome the newest members of the Wildcat family with a formal New Student Convocation the night before classes begin.

We continue to support students through their first year by working with faculty to provide academic support resources and outreach facilitators to provide students with links to some of the most popular academic success programs on campus.
